First Grade Winter Curriculum (Book Only)
This book contains step-by-step instructions for teaching children the Bible lessons, Bible truths, and memory verses. Activities in each lesson are designed to include all learning styles as well as to address the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of first and second graders. All song sheets, craft and activity pages, and take-home card pages are included in the lesson books.
Lessons studied in Winter Quarter include Jacob and Esau reuniting, the life of Joseph from his father giving him the robe of many colors to the saving of his family. To tell the Christmas story, we use the book, From God with Love by Mack Thomas. At the end of the quarter, children learn about Jesus washing the disciples’ feet, which leads into Spring Quarter.
For the First Grade lessons, we encourage you, if at all possible, to provide enough copies of The Beginner's Bible® so that each child (or at least two or three sharing a book) may follow along as you read the lesson.
